My toes are peeking over, does that count?

R has been pushing for change in the last few months. It has a lot to do with the personal work he's been doing. He is so thoroughly pumped by his day that it's hard not to get caught up in his enthusiasm. He does a great late night infomercial.

I'm pretty resistant to change. I like what I like. When I went for ice cream with my friends, my old roommate would joke:

"Hmm...What does Natalie want? Chocolate? ...or vanilla? .... OR..... chocolate?"

What can I say? When I find my niche, I like to groove in it.

When R and I talk about the hazy someday and we dream about the stuff we want to do...travel, explore, learn, grow... it's always been in the future. I talk a lot of hot shit about the future and all the stuff I'd like to do.

But how easy is it to get lost in the now?

Well, let's just say that the future has now come and hit me smack between the eyes.

To: Nat
From: Risto

"You are surrounded by them because the education systems of the world do not engender intelligence and a critical mindset, instead they engender self-involved mass consumers. Alarmist? Yes. Conspiratorial? Yes. Factual? Yes.

I'm incredibly excited for you to break free from that environment and reflect back on it in amazement. Amazement at the complacency that you, I, and everyone we know accepts the social and economic conditions that surround us, and we continue to operate within their ridiculous constraints. I'm excited for you to do what you love, and to continue exploring the many wonderful paths of experience."

And so...

I am about to...

Leap.

Who better to leap with than the person who's already gone over the edge and is waiting to catch me?
